How long does it take to charge an EV?

It depends. That’s probably not the answer you were hoping to see, but it really depends on several factors including which EV and which type of charger.

While you are on a road trip, your typical charging stop will be anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. That will give you enough charge to drive 2 to 3 hours until your next stop.

At home, it will generally take several hours because home chargers are much slower. This shouldn’t be much of an issue because you can schedule your EV to charge while you sleep.
